Steven MaierBirthdate: April 17, 1995
Birthplace: Lawrenceville, GA
Hometown: Port St. Lucie, FL

Driver: Steven Maier has been racing for 11 years.  He started in go-karts at the age of 6, then moved on to Bandolero’s at 11. During this time, Steven was track champion twice and 1st runner up twice.  At age 13, Steven competed in the Rotax Go-Kart series.  At the age of 15, Steven was the youngest driver ever to race in the FLorida TQ Midget series.  He was named Rookie of the Year for 2011.  Steven, now 16 years old, is entering his 2nd year racing TQ Midgets. The Florida TQ Midgets are the stepping stone to Sprint Cup/Indy Car racing.  They are small open-wheeled race cars with a shorter wheel base and smaller tires than standard midget cars.  You really learn how to handle a high horsepower, low weight race car in this series.  TQ Midgets can produce up to 130 horsepower and weigh only 650 pounds.  Their top speeds can reach 120 mph.

Student: As a Junior at Fort Pierce Central High School, Steven is an honor-roll student and enrolled in the dual-enrollment program with Indian River State College.  He also plays on his varsity baseball team.  After graduation, Steven plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.  His ultimate goal, however, is to race professionally.

Community Volunteer: Steven has volunteered at various local organizations, including Dogs & Cats Forever (a no-kill shelter), the annual Treasure Coast Waterway Cleanup, Heathcote Botanical Gardens, Treasure Coast Pop Warner Football, Sarah's Kitchen and Extreme Speed Motorsports.
