OK, we are beginning to sound like a broken record.

We got to the track early for practice.  After the 2nd round, right rear went flat.  After the 3rd round, noticed right front also had a puncture.  You guessed it, another flat!  Took care of that problem, then made some major changes on the chassis for the feature and was feeling good.  We had pole, but decided to start shot-gun on the field, not sure how the car would handle after the changes.  Within 2 laps, #23 had moved up to 3rd position.  Then, the gremlin returned!  Again, the car goes dead coming out of turn 2.  Got the car re-fired, and we went to the back of the field.  On the re-start going into turn two, we die again.  The bad news is we finished 8th with a DNF.  The good news is we found the gremlin and, hopefully, killed it.  The gremlin was the tip-over switch.  This switch is designed to shut off the car if it flips.  For some reason, it kept thinking we were flipping.

Next race is next week, May 7, again at Punta Gorda.  It is the crew-chief & owner’s birthday.  No pressure for the driver to bring home a trophy.  See you at the races!
