Podium in Punta Gorda! The race started off a little crazy when the 30 car got into the 6 car on the first lap, causing #6 to roll over & spill some fluid on the track. The good news is the driver was o.k. On the re-start, I fell back to 5th, but by lap 8, I was back up to 3rd, but a ½ track behind. Luckily for me, at about the halfway point, a yellow came out when car #7 spun. This bunched the field back up and put me in 2nd place. On the re-start, the 1st place car & I were able to put some distance between us and the rest of the field. I didn’t want to push the car to hard, remembering what had happened last race. I was happy to settle for a second place finish. I gained some valuable points in the rookie chase. I dropped the margin from 28 to 12 points. Next race is August 20 at Punta Gorda.
